Access Bars®
For the mind that won’t switch off
A gentle, hands-on relaxation technique: 32 points on the head are lightly touched for an hour while you rest fully clothed — in your own home. Most people describe it as the deepest rest they’ve had in months.
32 points · 60 minutes · nothing asked of you
Does this sound familiar?
These aren’t character flaws. They’re what a nervous system looks like when it hasn’t been allowed to stand down for months.
- You’re exhausted, but the moment your head hits the pillow your mind starts up again.
- You read the same email four times and still don’t take it in.
- You’re at dinner with people you love and mentally still in the office.
- You replay conversations for hours, rewriting what you should have said.
- You know exactly what you should do — you just can’t seem to get to it.
Active State: Your mind is constantly looping, replaying scenarios, and processing background noise. You are physically resting but mentally running a marathon.
So what actually is it?
Access Bars is a hands-on relaxation technique. There are 32 points on the head — across the forehead, the temples and over the crown — and during a session I rest my fingers on them very lightly, holding each for a while.
That’s genuinely all it is. You lie down fully clothed, you don’t have to talk, and you don’t have to do anything. Most people slide into the kind of deep rest they haven’t reached in a long time. Some fall asleep entirely.
I’m a recently certified practitioner building up my practice, so sessions are priced accordingly — this is the best time to try it.
And just as importantly — what it isn’t
- Not a massage — there’s no pressure, kneading or manipulation
- Not medical treatment or therapy, and not a replacement for either
- Not something you need to believe in for it to be restful
- Not talk-based — nothing to explain, relive or work through

Awarded on completion of the Access Bars Class with a licensed Bars Facilitator. It means I’m qualified to run sessions for you — and, as of July 2026, that I’m early in my practice, which is exactly why sessions are priced the way they are.

Where this fits with coaching
Coaching works on the things you can think your way through: boundaries, visibility, strategy, the words you use in a difficult meeting. That work is essential — and it has a limit.
Burnout isn’t only a thinking problem. No amount of strategy lands when your nervous system never gets to stand down. You can leave a session with a perfectly good plan and still be too wired to act on it.
Access Bars is the other half of that work. It asks nothing of you. You lie down and let your mind go quiet. Clients often tell me the coaching session after their Bars is the one where things finally click.

You lie down fully clothed. We talk briefly about how you’ve been — then the talking stops.
Afterwards
What people tend to notice
Everyone’s experience differs — these are the things clients mention most often.
A quieter mind
Relief from the constant mental chatter and the replaying of conversations.
Deeper rest
Many clients report sleeping better in the nights following a session.
Space to think
Decisions that felt tangled often feel simpler once the noise drops.
Less carried in your body
Shoulders drop, jaw unclenches — the physical residue of a hard week eases.
Nothing required of you
No talking, no reliving hard experiences, no effort. Just an hour of rest.
No journey either side
I come to you, so you can stay exactly where you are afterwards instead of driving home half-asleep.

Questions
Honest answers
Do I need to believe in anything for this to work?
No. You don’t need any belief system, and you don’t need to do anything during the session. Come tired and sceptical — that’s completely fine.
Is it a massage? Does it hurt?
It isn’t a massage and there’s no pressure or manipulation. It’s a very light touch on points around your head. You stay fully clothed throughout.
Where does the session happen?
At your place — I travel to you and bring everything I need. All you have to provide is a quiet room and somewhere comfortable to lie down. It also means you don’t have to drive anywhere afterwards, which matters more than people expect once they’re that relaxed.
How will I feel afterwards?
Most people feel deeply relaxed, sometimes pleasantly spacey. A few feel energised instead. Both are normal. I’d suggest not scheduling anything demanding straight after your first session.
How long is a session, and how many do I need?
A full session is 60 minutes. Many people feel a difference after one — which is why you can book a single session first, with no commitment. If you’re running on empty, a series spread over several weeks tends to hold better than a one-off.
Can I combine this with coaching?
Yes, and many clients do. Coaching gives you the plan; Bars sessions help your mind get quiet enough to actually follow it. Mention it on your clarity call and we’ll work out a rhythm that suits you.
Is this medical treatment or therapy?
No. Access Bars is a relaxation practice. It is not medical care, psychotherapy, or a substitute for either — please keep working with your doctor or therapist if you have one.
Give your mind an hour off
